Real Avilés Industrial CF have completed the loan signing of promising Nigerian centre-back Ezechukwu Chukwuma Maduabuchi, popularly known as Chukwuma Eze, from newly promoted LaLiga side Real Oviedo.
The 20-year-old defender was instrumental in Real Oviedo’s historic return to LaLiga, showcasing maturity beyond his years in crucial games during the 2024/25 campaign.

Now, with the top-tier side restructuring ahead of the new season, Eze will continue his development with Real Avilés in the Primera Federación (1ª RFEF), Spain’s competitive third tier.
Eze’s journey began in the heart of Lagos, Nigeria, where he emerged from the Collins Edwin Sports Club Academy, a grassroots powerhouse known for producing elite football talent.
His strong performances in youth competitions and rapid progression through Real Oviedo’s ranks have earned him high praise both in Spain and back home in Nigeria.
The move to Real Avilés is seen as a strategic step to ensure the young defender gains regular first-team experience in a physically demanding league, allowing him to hone his skills and return to Oviedo ready for LaLiga challenges.
Speaking on the transfer, a club insider noted: “Chukwuma Eze is a player with immense potential. This loan will allow him to grow in a competitive environment while remaining under close observation by Oviedo.”
