Nigerian U20 striker Kparobo Arierhi delivered a composed full-match performance on Tuesday as Mjøndalen IF secured a 2–1 away victory over Skeid in the Norwegian OBOS-Ligaen.
The 18-year-old, currently on loan from Lillestrøm SK, featured for the entire 90 minutes — marking his fourth consecutive start since arriving in mid-July. Although he didn’t get on the scoresheet, Arierhi was a constant threat up front, linking up play and keeping the Skeid defense on high alert.

Skeid took an early lead through K. Ødemarksbakken, but Mjøndalen responded with a second-half brace from J. Svenungsen Skau, sealing the comeback win.
Arierhi, a product of Nigeria’s Beyond Limits Academy, earned global attention after scoring 22 goals in 15 matches in the Nigerian league and helping Beyond Limits win the prestigious Viareggio Cup, where he also scored in the final. He later starred for Nigeria’s U20 side in their WAFU B Championship triumph.
Following his move to Lillestrøm, the teenage forward made just two substitute appearances before being loaned to Mjøndalen for more consistent playing time. Lillestrøm’s sporting director confirmed the move was part of a long-term development plan.
Arierhi’s decision to join Lillestrøm over offers from Lyon and Aston Villa was based on a clear path to first-team football. He has also been named by CAF as one of the top young African talents to watch and received praise from Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi, who likened him to Victor Osimhen.
As Mjøndalen climb the OBOS-Ligaen standings, Arierhi’s impressive displays continue to strengthen his case for a spot in Nigeria’s squad for the 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup.
