A football scout and players’ agent from Czech Republic, Tomas Syrovatka has opined that Nigerian footballers have to improve their shooting skills in order to be regarded as world class players, Sports247 reports.
While singling out Galatasaray of Turkey striker, Victor Osimhen as a different narrative, Syrovatka posited that a typical weak point of many Nigerian players whom he has watched is their low ability of shooting at goal accurately and powerfully.

While using the ongoing Supremacy Cup at Legacy Pitch of Lagos National Stadium, Surulere as a case study, the former board member and vice-president at SK Slavia Prague stressed that Nigerian coaches have to work on shooting techniques for their players.
However, while speaking further with Sports247, Syrovatka, who is an assessor at this year’s Supremacy Cup scouting competition on behalf of Slovan Liberec FC of Czech Republic, added that he has seen many other areas in which the average Nigerian player is gifted.
“They are talented. They mark well in numbers and are physical on the ball, but they are not good with shots. That’s the typical problem of Nigeria’s players. They cannot shoot.
“They have good organisation and they are always determined, but they have to do better in shooting,” stressed Syrovatka, who is currently a Czech football executive.
The former investigative reporter for MF Dnes and Neovlivni.cz publications added that, though he is uncomfortable with the heat in Lagos, he enjoys watching young players show their skills in the competition.
Sports247 adds that Ikorodu City FC will on Thursday face defending champions, Beyond Limit of Ikenne in the final of the competition that is staged annually by Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) chairman, Hajj Gafar Olawale Liameed.
