Former Super Eagles star Mutiu Adepoju has proudly celebrated his daughter, Atinuke Adepoju, who has earned her Private Pilot Licence (PPL) after graduating from the Brussels Aviation School in Belgium.
The ex-footballer, fondly known as “The Headmaster” for his heading prowess during Nigeria’s golden football era, shared the news on social media, describing Atinuke’s success as a moment of pride and inspiration.

“Your dedication, resilience, and passion for aviation have truly paid off,” Adepoju wrote. “You’ve not only chased your dreams but soared above challenges with grace, focus, and determination. The sky is only your beginning!”
Atinuke’s accomplishment follows months of intense training and examinations required to obtain the coveted pilot licence, which allows holders to operate small aircraft privately.
The announcement has drawn warm reactions across social media, with fans and aviation enthusiasts congratulating the family and praising Atinuke as a role model for young women in aviation, a field still underrepresented by females globally.
Adepoju, who represented Nigeria in three FIFA World Cups and won the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations, is widely respected for his contributions to African football. Now, he says he’s even prouder to see his daughter charting her own course — this time, in the skies.
“Welcome to the skies, Captain,” he added in his post. “Higher altitudes await.”
With her PPL now secured, Atinuke is expected to continue her aviation journey towards advanced certifications and professional ratings.
For the Adepoju family, it’s a new kind of victory — one that soars far above the football field and into limitless horizons.
