The chairman of next week’s 2nd Nigeria Golf Summit, Lawal Garba has enthused that the gathering of players, stakeholders, corporate bodies, personalities, political leaders and guests will accord all participants a rare opportunity of getting to know more about the game.
Sports247 reports that, while shedding light on expectations at the gathering, which is being organised by Nigeria Golf Federation (NGF) for golfers and enthusiasts, Garba assured that many ideas will be shared during the sessions on Wednesday and Thursday in Abuja.
Garba, who is also the chairman of Trobell Nigeria Limited and an ardent golf player, further expressed optimism that the summit will yield fresh dividends for the game’s progress in Nigeria, as personalities from various walks of life will gather at NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja.
He also described the summit as an important platform for participants to network, exchange ideas, explore opportunities for professional growth, build relationships and enhance personal development, while contributing to broader development of golf in Nigeria.
“We all belong to respective fields, but I believe golf is bringing us together for a purpose. We have to maximize the opportunities of the forthcoming summit to make friends and also learn more about the sport.
“The development of golf in Nigeria is also paramount. All these and many more will be on the cards at the summit. I am just so happy that this is happening at the right time,” Garba expatiated.
He added that the second edition of the Nigeria Golf Federation Summit is expected to attract leading golfers, administrators, industry heads, stakeholders as well as esteemed personalities from across the country and beyond.
The president of Nigeria Golf Federation, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe also disclosed that arrangements have reached an advanced stage for the summit, adding that the second edition will build on the successful inaugural event.
“The agenda is loaded, especially because there are many things on the cards. We want Nigerians to know more about the sport and our plans about its development,” said Runsewe, who also confirmed special guests for the event.
Sports247 gathered that the summit will have His Royal Highness, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi as Royal Father of the day, while former governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola and Senator Simon Bako Lalong will be special guests of honour.
