Nigerian-born Dazzler Jamal Musiala Reveals Real Reason Why He Faints During Matches

Bayern Munich of Germany’s Nigerian-born midfield dazzler, Jamal Musiala has come out with a down-to-earth revelation that he keeps fainting during football matches because he has a ‘neurological dysfunction,’ but added that it is ‘brief and treatable.’

Sports247 reports that the former Chelsea of England academy trainee, who was part of Germany’s squad to the recent FIFA World Cup, just six months after he suffered a broken ankle, revealed further that he is already receiving expert attention to correct his defect.

The 23-year-old Musiala added that he has medically been ‘diagnosed with brief, temporary – but treatable – absence seizures resulting from a neurological dysfunction,’ which apparently made him fall on Tuesday, just six minutes after getting off the bench during their 4-2 victory over Heidenheim.

Top shots at the Munich-based club also admitted that they know the setback that Musiala is currently facing, but insist he was cleared to play Tuesday’s friendly, though it came just a few days after the Nigerian-born lad also slumped during a similar match on Saturday.

He first collapsed during Bayern’s 3-1 victory over RB Leipzig, which was played in sweltering heat, but The Bavarians’ explanation by their honorary president, Uli Hoeness, revealed that neurologists gave written clearance for Musiala to play the next game.

While speaking to Sky and RTL, Hoeness expatiated: “We’ve been aware of the problems for some time now. Against Leipzig, it happened for the first time on the pitch, and it was visible to everyone.

“At that point, we thought, ‘If it doesn’t happen again so quickly, then the medication he’s taking will help.’ But when it happened again four days later, in the same way, it completely floored me. It’s a tragedy, especially for Jamal.”
