Team captain Rachel Kundananji struck a determined tone, committing Zambia to a no-nonsense knockout campaign.
After their group-stage campaign, which included topping the section and securing mental confidence, Kundananji said the time for polishing was over and the time for delivering is now.

“Qualifying from the group was non-negotiable,” she said, underscoring the mindset behind their top-spot finish. She added that the break between stages has been used wisely:
“We will use the break to analyze group-stage performances, correct mistakes, and sharpen our finishing.” With eight goals in their group run, Zambia have been strong up front—but Kundananji insists even that can be improved.
With bluntness, she vowed: “Zambia won’t give anything away in the knockout stages.” This steely determination hints at a defensive cohesion just as fierce as their attacking will.
If Zambia can combine sharper conversion with organized defending, their captain expects them to go deep in the tournament. Kundananji’s rallying cry is crystal clear: no freebies, no complacency, only ruthless execution.
