The encounter is scheduled for September 18–20, 2026, with the Nigerian team set to play away in Morocco in what promises to be a keenly contested tie.

Team Nigeria booked their place in World Group II with a convincing 3–1 win over Uzbekistan in the play-offs held last weekend at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Onikan. Inspired by strong home support, the Benson Isicbeli-led side produced a disciplined display to secure qualification and keep their promotion ambitions alive.

A total of 26 nations will compete in World Group II, comprising 13 teams relegated from the World Group I Play-offs and 13 teams that advanced from the World Group II Play-offs.

The winners of the ties will earn places in the 2027 World Group I Play-offs, while the losing teams will remain in World Group II.

Each tie will be decided over five matches played across two days.

The format includes two singles matches on the first day, followed by a doubles encounter and two reverse singles on the second day, with all matches played as best-of-three tiebreak sets.

While Nigeria face a stern test against Morocco on foreign soil, the team will draw confidence from their recent victory in Lagos as they aim to secure a crucial away win and edge closer to the top tier of the Davis Cup competition.
