The Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF) has paid glowing tribute to the champions and participants of the 47th CBN National Open Tennis Championship, applauding their resilience, determination and outstanding performances throughout the prestigious national tournament.

In a message of appreciation shared after the tournament, the NTF described the winners as worthy champions who earned their success through hard work, discipline and relentless competition on the court.
“Better late than never, here are your 47th CBN National Open Champions,” the federation stated while recognising the outstanding performers across the various categories.
Canice Abua emerged as the men’s singles champion after an impressive campaign and also completed a memorable double by partnering Musa Muhammed to claim the boys’ doubles title.
In the women’s singles event, Etoro Bassey showcased her class and consistency to lift the championship trophy, further cementing her place among Nigeria’s leading female tennis players.
The girls’ doubles title was won by the duo of Success Ogunjobi and Mohammed Khadijat, whose teamwork and determination saw them emerge champions after an exciting tournament.
In the wheelchair categories, Alex Adewale claimed the men’s singles title, while Andrea Usoh was crowned champion in the women’s singles division, highlighting the growing strength and inclusiveness of wheelchair tennis in Nigeria.
The federation also acknowledged the efforts of the finalists and every player who participated in the championship, describing them as true warriors whose commitment contributed to the success of the competition.
