In his message of commendation, the Director General of the NSC, Hon. Bukola Olopade, praised the athletes for their resilience and for bringing honour to the country.

“Our para athletes have once again proven that Nigeria remains a powerhouse in para powerlifting,” said Olopade. “Their dedication and discipline embody the true spirit of our nation. The NSC remains committed to supporting and empowering our athletes to reach even greater heights.”

The President of the Paralympic Committee of Nigeria (PCN), Mr. Sunday Odebode, also applauded the NSC for its consistent support of para sports. He described the leadership of NSC Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko and Director General Olopade as transformative for the sector.

“This is a breath of fresh air for para sports in Nigeria,” Odebode said. “The athletes are motivated, the system is improving, and there’s renewed confidence among our teams.”

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s para athletes are already preparing for their next challenge — the West African Para Soccer Tournament, scheduled to hold in Lagos under the continued guidance of the NSC.

The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to promoting inclusivity and excellence in Nigerian sports, ensuring that para athletes receive the support and recognition they deserve.
