Nigeria, Spain Sign Agreement To Improve Sports In Both Countries

The Kingdom of Spain and The Federal Government Of Nigeria through their Sports Ministries have signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) to promote relationships, cooperation, and collaboration between the two countries in areas relating to sports.

The MoU which was signed on Wednesday, 1st June 2022 in Madrid, Spain, is one of the bilateral agreements reached between the two nations during the state visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to the King of Spain, King Filipe VI.

The purpose of the agreement for Sports collaboration, which was signed by the Sports Ministers of both countries, Mr. Sunday Dare and Miquel Octavi will seek corporations between the King of Spain and the Federal Government of Nigeria in areas such as building, development, and management of sports relations and institutions, exchange of knowledge in areas of sports science, technology, medicine, the fight against doping amongst others.

The execution of the terms of the agreement is set to begin immediately and will automatically be renewed on a yearly basis.
