The Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) has unveiled the national team’s new jerseys, manufactured by renowned English sportswear brand Umbro, ahead of the highly anticipated 2025 Rugby Africa Men’s Sevens Series scheduled to hold from June 21 to 22 in Mauritius.
The Federation made the announcement via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, stating:
“Big news! Umbro has officially released the Nigeria Rugby jerseys for public purchase on their website.
Now you can proudly wear the same gear as the Stallions. Get yours and rep Naija rugby in style.”
The kits are now available for purchase on Umbro’s website at £90—approximately ₦188,100 at the current exchange rate—offering fans a chance to don the same look as the national side, fondly nicknamed the Stallions.
Striking Kit Designs
There are two distinctive jersey styles available:
Home Kit: A bold deep green base complemented by black accents around the neckline.
Away Kit: A sleek all-white look with green highlights on the sleeves, designed to make the team stand out on the pitch.
The Stallions are expected to debut the new kits at the Labourdonnais Sports Club in Mauritius when the tournament kicks off.
Tough Group Test in Mauritius
Drawn into Pool B, Nigeria will face off against rugby heavyweights South Africa, along with Burkina Faso and Zambia in the group stage.
Guided by head coach Steve Lewis, Nigeria will be among twelve top African nations vying for continental supremacy, including Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Madagascar, Tunisia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, and host nation Mauritius.
Pathway to Global Stage
The winner of the tournament will secure qualification for the prestigious 2025 World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series, providing an international platform for elite competition and potential promotion to the World Series.
