Nigeria Proud To Host Africa School Games In 2027 – Bukola Olopade

The Director-General of Nigeria’s National Sports Commission (NSC), Honourable Bukola Olopade has disclosed that the country is already proud in haven been selected to host the second edition of the Africa School Games in 2027.

Sports247 reports that Olopade was equally happy with the treatment that Nigeria’s contingent got during their stay in Algeria for the duration of this year’s inaugural edition of the competition.

The erudite sports administrator eulogised, “We are extremely very grateful to the Algerian government for the way our children have been treated.

“The relationship between Algeria and Nigeria has always been solid.

This year has helped us to foster a stronger relationship. We are truly grateful.”

Olopade also thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for trusting in him to direct affairs of the NSC, along with the body’s chairman, Mallam Shehu Dikko, who he also hailed for his leadership role in driving Nigerian sports to a higher level.

Olopade concluded: “When we were appointed, the mandate given to us was to ensure that there is a complete grassroots improvement in Nigerian sports.

“Being here is part of our efforts in bringing sports directly to our youths. We are also very proud that we will be hosting this event in 2027. We wait for you, Africa. Viva Africa! Thank you very much.”
