Nigeria Players’union appoints Canada based Nigerian football expert as consultant

The National Association of Nigerian Professional Footballers (NANPF), is its continued drive towards delivering a better footballers union with the attendant benefits for all members, on Friday, last week, appointed Canada based Nigerian football expert, Chinedu Amadi, as a consultant on marketing, preparation and players management.

The letter of appointment letter signed by Comrade Austin Popo, the General Secretary on behalf of the players’ union president,Tijani Babangida, MON stated that the appointment of Amadi which is with immediate effect, was premised on his rich knowledge and experience in sports marketing and players management over the past years.

Chinedu Amadi, a former footballer and top rated Canadian sprinter, is a world renowned sports management expert with vast experiences spanning over two decades. Born in Sadbury, Canada, but originally hails from Owerri, Imo State. At 4 years old, he moved back to Nigeria on a cultural exchange programme. And at age 15, he was a Personal Assistant to the Imo State Commissioner of Commerce, Industry, Works and Transport.

He is a seasoned management consultant with a special focus on Sports Development and Management. Amadi attended the University of Guelph, Canada, where he studied Economics, and was a First Team All Canadian Student Athlete. He is a dynamic and proven inspirational leader with innovative and refreshing perspective on how to propel socio-economic development in Africa through sports.
