Nigeria takes on Gabon in Rabat on Thursday. A victory will progress the Super Eagles to African playoff final against either Cameroon or the Democratic Republic of Congo on November 16, also in the Moroccan capital.
The playoffs offer a further opportunity for an African team to qualify for the World Cup, but the winner will have to get past teams from other continents in another playoff series in March.

FC Utrecht picked up its first point in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday with a 1-1 draw at home to FC Porto. Miguel Rodriguez broke the deadlock for the home side in the Galgenwaard before the Portuguese side equalized through Borja Sainz.
Zaidu Sanusi, who feature throughout the match, put in a good shift for FC Porto as they battled to a draw against FC Utrecht in the UEFA Europa League.
EVERTON 2-0 FULHAM (Matchday11)
Fulham suffered an away defeat to Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday, and it was a comfortable victory for the home side.
Idrissa Gana Gueye put Everton ahead in the first half and Michael Keane made it 2-0 in the second half as Everton had a number of goals chalked off for just being offside and David Moyes’ side were superior throughout.
The Nigeria defender and Fulham centre back Calvin Bassey puts in a good effort in defence, with five clearance and six duels won after 90 minutes. Alex Iwobi created a chance in 90 minutes as Samuel Chukwueze was introduced in the 59 minutes to replace Wilson in Fulham’s away league defeat against Everton.
Fulham remains on 11 points, and Marco Silva’s side is lacking in confidence and is definitely in the relegation scrap.
