Nigeria Pillar Of Sports Congratulates Amusan, Brume On World Athletics Feats

Nigeria Pillar Of Sports High Chief Donatus Agu-Ejidike, JP, has sent a congratulatory message to both Tobiloba Amusan and Ese Brume for making Nigeria proud with podium performances at the World Athletics Championship in Oregon, USA.

Tobi Amusan broke the women’s 100m hurdles world record in the semifinals at the world track and field championships in Eugene, Oregon. She went even faster to win the final nearly two hours later.

While her compatriot, Ese Brume won a silver medal in the long jump, placing second behind German Olympic Champion Malaika Mihambo.

In the congratulatory message, High Chief Ejidike described the feats as awesome and very inspiring. He said, ” What you Tobi Amusan, and Ese Brume did yesterday at the World Athletics Championship is truly morale-lifting and inspiring.

“Nigerians are very proud of your achievements. At this period of our national life, your feats are testimonials that all hopes are not lost for us as a people and particularly, in our sports.
