Nigeria Is Ready For African Handball Championship – Rafiu Salami

The Golden Arrows of Nigeria will do battle with the rest of Africa in the 2022 edition of the most important event when it comes to Handball in the continent of Africa.

The 25th African Handball Championship commences in a few days and the team is optimistic about doing well going into the competition. Head coach of the Golden Arrows, Rafiu Salami has expressed optimism about the expected performance of Nigeria’s male handball team going into the competition. He says the team has what it takes to win the African Handball Championship when events go down in Egypt.

In his expectation that Nigeria will qualify for the World Handball Championship through the African Championship, in his words, though the team may lack exposure, he hopes they do well in Egypt.

“Though the team may lack exposure going to this Championship, that’s the best Nigeria can give for now. We will do all we can. Based on what we have done here, to be exposed is not enough. The last team was more exposed than this but we didn’t do too much. We will work hard and see if we can get something out of the competition” the coach concluded.

The 2022 African Handball tournament is the 25th edition Africa is organizing and hostilities will begin from the 9th to 19th of July 2022 in Egypt. This stands as Africa’s version of qualification for the 2023 World Men’s Handball Championship slated to hold in Poland and Sweden.
