Amun said the passing of both men in the same period has left a deep void in the country’s sporting community, given their immense contributions to the game.

“Their demise is a painful loss to the country,” Amun said.
Reflecting on Onigbinde’s legacy, Amun noted that the former national team coach was often underestimated despite his strong principles and dedication to the game.
“Onigbinde was underestimated by the nation because he was a very straightforward man,” he added.
He also acknowledged the impact of the late Henry Nwosu, whose contribution as a player remains widely respected in Nigerian football history.
Amun said both men served the country with distinction and deserve to be remembered for the roles they played in shaping the sport.
“Nigeria has lost two important football men,” he said.
The former coach concluded by praying for the repose of their souls and urged the football community to continue honoring their legacy.
