The curtain falls today on the second edition of the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) Region II Senior Athletics Championships at the University of Ghana, Legon, Accra.
After a dominant opening day performance, Team Nigeria will be targeting more gold medals as 15 finals are scheduled to take place on the closing day of the competition.

The morning session will feature four finals: the men’s and women’s 400m hurdles, the women’s discus throw, and the men’s triple jump.
Later in the afternoon, from 15:10 GMT, the men’s shot put final will take place, alongside four women’s events — the 1,500m, javelin throw, long jump, and 200m.
The men’s finals in the high jump, 200m, 800m, 5,000m, and javelin throw are slated to begin at 16:00 GMT. The championships will conclude with the mixed 4x400m relay, the final event of the two-day competition.
Nigeria, winners of the maiden edition last year, currently lead the medals table and are widely expected to consolidate their dominance by adding to their haul and retaining the championships title.
