Team Nigeria concluded its campaign at the 6th African Military Boxing Championship in Rabat, Morocco, on Friday with a total of six medals—two silver and four bronze—but no gold.

Nigerian boxers Rilwan Lawal (60kg) and Gbadamosi Quadri (69kg), both representing the Nigerian Army, were Nigeria’s last hopes for a gold medal in the finals.

However, both fighters fell short in their respective bouts, settling for silver medals.

Despite the absence of a gold medal, the Nigerian contingent, led by former Olympian and current Army boxing coach, Aweda Kehinde, held their own against some of the continent’s toughest military boxers.
