Playing at the Tafawa Balewa Square Cricket Oval, the hosts, popularly known as the Female Yellow Greens, produced a complete all-round display to secure a resounding 136-run victory in Match 5 of the competition.
Nigeria posted an imposing 159/4 in 20 overs, showcasing disciplined batting and strong partnerships. In response, Ghana crumbled under pressure and were bowled out for just 23 runs in 10.4 overs, highlighting Nigeria’s dominance with the ball.
The match also produced a moment of brilliance in the field, as Ghana’s Elizabeth Annor stunned spectators with a spectacular catch, one of the few bright moments for her side.
Rwanda Hold Nerve in Thriller
In another fixture, Rwanda edged past South Africa U-19 in a tense, rain-affected contest. Defending a modest total of 104 in 14 overs, Rwanda held their composure to restrict their opponents to 100, sealing a four-run victory via the DLS method.
