Nigeria has been drawn in a challenging pool alongside Morocco and Algeria for the 2026 Women’s African Nations Volleyball Championship, scheduled to take place in Nairobi, Kenya.
The Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) confirmed the participating nations after all qualification events were concluded, with 16 countries securing places at the continental showpiece.
The championship will be held from August 23 to September 5, 2026, bringing together Africa’s top women’s volleyball teams in a bid for continental glory and qualification points for future international competitions.
Nigeria is grouped with North African rivals Morocco and Algeria, as well as Uganda, in what promises to be a fiercely contested group.
Hosts Kenya, one of Africa’s traditional volleyball powerhouses, headline another group alongside Egypt, Cameroon and Rwanda.
The third group features Mali, Burkina Faso, Tunisia and Senegal, while Ghana, Zambia, DR Congo and Burundi complete the fourth pool.
Burundi earned the final qualification spot after finishing as the highest-ranked team yet to qualify.
