Niger United, Safety Babes Lead Summit As Phase 1 Of Ardova Handball Premier League 2023 Ends

Niger United and Safety Babes are the leaders going into the off season as the Ardova Handball Premier League 2023 phase 1 ends in Benin City, Edo State on Wednesday.

Niger United stamped their foot print at the summit of the league table as they comfortably defeated Correction Boys 33-23 and ended the first phase with 30 points, two points more than Safety Shooters settled for second with 28 points after struggling to defeat Confluence Stars 23-23.

Tojemarine Academy of Lagos are in third position with 27 points after they easily defeated Benue Buffaloes 28-19 while Lagos Seasiders also have 27 points as their city rival but they are in 4th position following their 34-32 thrilling victory over Bendel Dynamos.

Defending champion Kano Pillars are in fifth position after they defeated Police Machine 26-23 while Rima Strikers got the biggest victory of day 11 as they trashed De Defenders 41-27 to end in the first phase of the league on 7th position.

In the women category Safety Babes of FRSC are certainly the Queen of the women category as they defeated Rima Queens 33-20. They maintain their lead on the women category table with 27 points.

That is two more than their Abuja city rival Defender Babes who are in second position with 25 points while Rima Queens are in third position with 23 points.

Seasider Babes defeated Bendel Dynamos 31-27 to be in 6th position.

The MVPs for day 11 are Aminu Aliyu of Niger United and Ada Okey of Safety Babes.

The second phase of the Ardova Handball Premier League 2023 will hold in Lagos later in the year.
