Niger Tornadoes Defies Odds, Secures Vital Away Point

The Ikon Allah Boys who started the Match Day Ten encounter against North Central rivals Lobi Stars FC on a sound footing bundled away several scoring chances from the blast of the whistle, Musa Wakili was set free in the first minute of game but missed a glorious opportunity to put his team ahead, the wastefulness in front of goal continued when Shamsudeen Hashim was nicely set up by Ahmadu Liman, off a great counter attacking play, but his effort was saved by Stanley Nwabali in goal for Lobi Stars, moments later, Munir Idris also came close, as he balloons his effort over the bar, from inside box, with many angles to chose from. After eleven minutes of play, three great chances were already missed to sum up how toothless the team has been in front of goal.

Shamsudeen Hashim became a torn in the flesh of Lobi Stars defenders as he continued to torment them with his mesmerising and silk movement of the ball coupled with speed, he came close on the thirty sixth minutes after latching onto a pass but Nwabali Stanley denied him.

First half ended barren with the Ikon Allah Boys having themselves to blame for the missed chances.

Shortly after resumption into the second half, Shamsudeen Hashim continued from where he left off before the break, he broke the deadlock with a sumptuous finish after collecting a superb pass from Ahmadu Liman to put his team in front.

Lobi Stars effected three changes shortly after conceding the goal and the substitutions paid off immediately as Ifeanyi Ogba levelled the tie up after driving into the box and firing shot beyond the reach of George Michael.

Further efforts by both teams to add to the score line and take the lead proved abortive as the centre referee Nurudeen Garba from Bauchi signalled the end of the game.

Shamsudeen Hashim starred, despite missed chances, got his first goal of the season.
Ahmadu Liman impressive, his combining midfield play with Shamsudeen Hashim should be watched out for.
Debutant Bolaji Adeyemo showed glimpses of greatness, he is expected to come good going forward.

Recent scorelines are not the true reflection of how Tornadoes plays, converting chances remains the greatest undoing.
