The President of Nigerian Grassroots Football Federation (NGFF), Alhaji Agboola Dabiri has showered encomiums on former players of the body’s youth development project for organising a befitting memorial for their late coach, Hyacienth Nkwocha, Sports247 reports.
The commendation from Dabiri, who is also a former chairman of both Surulere Local Government and Lagos State Sports Council, came after the products of Community Action Through Sport (CATS) staged a mini tournament at Legacy Pitch of Lagos National Stadium, Surulere.

The competition was in honour of Coach Hyacienth, who was the technical director of the venture that was sponsored by The British Council, while Dabiri was the project director from the team’s inception until it ceased to exist in 2009.
In the wake of Sunday’s epochal activities, Dabiri, who is now the chairman of CATS Ladies FC, a private owned club that competes in the women’s league, thanked everyone who made the event possible and prayed for better days ahead of them all.
Dabiri stated, “I commend the programme for not only remembering our late coach and brother, but equally in appreciation of his efforts when he was alive. May his humble soul rest in peace.
“Thanks so much to our CATS graduates. God will continue to uplift you all. For us, the officials too, it’s only God who rewards people. May God reward us well with long life, good health, and prosperity. Cheers.”
