The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has called on the technical and legal department of the board to produce guidelines for the establishment of football academies in Nigeria with immediate effect.
This directive is in bid to curb mushroom football academies in the country that have gain grounds without proper structure and indices followed to exist as such developmental institution.
Ibrahim Gusau led Executive Committee of Nigeria Football Federation which met on Tuesday, 20th June 2023 at the NAUCTE-DEAL Hotel, Asaba to deliberate on important issues in Nigeria Football drew the line as to how football academies can and should be run in the country.
The Board further directed the technical and legal departments to work at a much faster pace to produce guidelines for the establishment of Football Academies in Nigeria.
The insistence on it is because the guidelines which were long overdue has given room for mushrooming of all manner of ‘Football Academies’ across the land.
With this directive, all football academies owners will now have to adjust to the formulated guidelines or risk extinction.
