NFF Extraordinary Assembly To Discuss Amendments Of Statutes, Electoral Code, Standing Orders

Key issues on the agenda of this week’s extraordinary general assembly of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State will be amendments of statutes, checking electoral code and update of standing orders.

Sports247 gathered that other cogent issues affecting the organization and management of football in Nigeria will also come under focus at the gathering, which has been described as an extension of the annual general assembly.

Expected in attendance are chairmen and secretaries from all football associations of the country’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as well as members of the NFF executive committee and management officers.

They will be joined inside DSP Alamieyeseigha Banquet Hall, Government House, Yenagoa by chairmen and secretaries of Nigeria’s various league bodies – NPFL, NNL, NLO and NWFL – as well as associations of coaches, referees and players’ union.

A statement by the NFF’s communications department disclosed in part, “During the business session, the Congress will deliberate on amendments to the extant NFF Statutes, the NFF Electoral Code and the Standing Orders of the General Assembly.

“There will be appointments of Members of the NFF Electoral Committee and the NFF Electoral Appeals Committee, as well as appointment of the Independent Auditor of the NFF.

“Officials from world football-governing body, FIFA and the continental governing body, CAF are already in Nigeria to observe proceedings of the 2026 NFF Extraordinary General Assembly.”
