NFF Board Member Lauds JCI Coaching Clinic

Executive Board Member of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi has heaped plaudits on the Management of JCI football Academy for consistently exposing grassroots coaches in Nigeria to what is applicable and obtainable globally.

Alhaji Majekodunmi who visited the JCI Sports Arena on Thursday to witness the recent coaching clinic appreciated the individuals behind the initiative and particularly gave kudos to the Chairman of JCI, Dr. Joseph Ogunsanya.

Alhaji Majekodunmi described the event as a laudable initiative which has the foundation that’s capable of standing the test of time.

He said “This is a very good initiative, developmental programmes are top of the menu on the diary of the Nigeria Football Federation and events like this is in tandem with what the football body is preaching”

“I sincerely appreciate Doctor Ogunsanya for this opportunity for our grassroot coaches, it will spur them to work effortlessly on updating their knowledge on what’s applicable globally”.

Alhaji Majekodunmi assured that the Ogun State Football Association under his watch will continue to support laudable initiatives which are legitimately aimed at building and rebuilding football in the state and Nigeria as a whole.

The Chairman of JCI, United States of America based Dr. Joseph Ogunsanya explained that building a formidable Nigerian football coaching system and getting grassroot coaches certified necessitated the coaching clinic.

He said “We had different sessions with the coaches, we also exposed them to the use of some modern day facilities”.

“Basically, we know it’s a challenge for most grassroot coaches to get certified, so we decided to assist from this level as regards certification, it will go a long way in their coaching career”.

Dr. Joseph Ogunsanya assured that the coaching clinic will not be a one off thing, adding it’s opened to coaches who are also outside the state.

The Chairman technical committee of the Ogun State Football Association, Dr. Bayo Oluwatoki was also present at the event.

Former head coach of Gateway United and Ijebu United, coach Hakeem Busari was also present as one of the instructors, others are coach Victor Agbagu and coach Henry Oviawe.

JCI Sports Arena is situated at Papalanto, Ewekoro Local Government area of Ogun State, it has a football friendly pitch a covered pavilion, hostels and other facilities.
