The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), through the board of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), has appointed the Chairman of the Lagos State Football Association, Hajji Gafar Olawale Liameed, as the South-West Zonal Coordinator for the 2025 U19 NPFL Youth Championship.
The appointment, which was confirmed in a letter signed by NPFL Secretary/Legal Adviser, Danladi Ibrahim, Esq., recognizes Liameed’s long-standing contributions to grassroots football and youth development across Nigeria.
According to the letter, the decision was based on his “extensive experience as a football administrator, unwavering dedication to the growth of sports in Nigeria, and well-known passion for youth development through football.”
Hajji Gafar, who also serves as the founder of 36 Lions FC, has previously coordinated youth tournaments in the region and is known for his commitment to identifying and nurturing young talent. His new role will see him oversee the organization and execution of the U19 youth league in the South-West geopolitical zone, which includes Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, and Ekiti States.
