Next NFF President…Akinwunmi, Liammed, Others Clear To Run

Chairman Lagos State Football Association, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, and a board member, Olawale Gafar Liammed are among the candidates that would contest the position of president and executive committee respectively of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF elections scheduled for 30, September 2022, in Benin, Edo state.

The electoral committee led by Aikhunegbe Anthony Malik (SAN) on Monday disqualified two out of 45 candidates
Two candidates were disqualified while eleven were cleared to contest the position of NFF President.

The two candidates are Paul Yusuf and Marcellinus Anyanwu, with the following cleared to contest the position of president.

The following presidential candidates are Christian Emeruwa, Amanze Uchegbulam, Peterside Idah, Musa Ahmadu
Abba Yola, David Doherty, Mouktar Mohammed, Ibrahim Musa Gusau, Shehu Dikko, Suleiman Kwande, and Seyi Akinwunmi.

Three candidates were cleared to contest the position of Vice-President namely; Chinedu Okoye, Felix Anyansi Agwu, and Obinna Ogba.

Ahmed Yusuf is the sole aspirant for the position of Chairman of chairman and will be returned unopposed.

Twenty-eight persons were cleared to vie for spots on the Executive Committee. They are; Ayodeji Adegbenro, Chikelue Iloenyusi, Aisha Falode, Magaret Ichee, Idris Abdullahi Musa, Majehodunmi Daniyu Akande, Kenneth Nwaomucha, Gregory Abang, Timothy Heman Magaji, Sajo Mohammed, Babangida Alkali, Mohammed Alkali, Sharif Rabiu Inuwa, Roland Abu Omomoh, Ogun Poubeni Oruwari, and Emeka Inyama.

Others are; Karibe Pascal Ojigwe, Jarret Teneb, Otunba Sunday Dele-Ajayi, Olawale Gafar Liameed, Afolabi Taiwo Olugbenga, Emmanuel Ochiagha, Nse Essien Udofot, Owofen Daniel Amokachi, Pelumi Jacob Olajengbesi, Benedict Akwuegbu, and Ayodeji Ogunjobi.

Akinwunmi in his official declaration recently in Abuja said if he was elected as president, he would focus on grassroots football development and ensure that all the developmental football programs in various states would be supported by the Nigeria football ruling body.

Liammed in his declaration also recently outlines his plans for the ex-internationals, coaches, players, and referees if he is elected to the board members of NFF.
