Next Africa Goal King Not Resting On His Laurels

Umar Sadiq scored one and assisted another in Almeria’s 3-1 defeat of CD Castellón last night to take his tally to 13 goals in all competitions this term.

The Nigerian marksman has moved to express how blessed and thankful he is. Although he admits it has not been easy, he aims to keep on working hard to maintain his good form.

“I thank God. I feel great and blessed. It’s not easy. For the last four games, I scored 6 goals.” Sadiq said.

“But I keep on working, you know hard work pays. We’ll see what happens at the end of the season how far I’ll reach. I thank God everything is going good and I will keep on working hard.” he added.

Sadiq is leading the way for Almeria in their quest to return to the Spanish top tier for the first time since 2014-15.

His 13 goals is the most in the team who are currently third in the Spanish second division table and are through to the quarter-finals of the Copa Del Rey.
