New LSSC Director General, Olalekan Fatodu Pledges To Harness Sports For Development

Olalekan Fatodu, the recently appointed Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC), has pledged to leverage sports as a catalyst for development, aligning with the THEMES Plus agenda of the state administration.

Fatodu, who assumed his new role amidst a warm welcome at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, was greeted by the management, board members, senior special assistants to the governor, and dedicated staff of the commission.

In his inaugural address to the management team, Fatodu emphasized his commitment to utilizing sports as a vehicle for promoting inclusivity, gender equality, and youth engagement across Lagos State.

“With the platform of sports, we will activate the agenda of inclusivity, gender friendliness, as well as engagement of the youth,” Fatodu declared, highlighting the transformative potential of sports in fostering social cohesion and community development.

Drawing on his extensive experience as a former Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Development Goals, Fatodu expressed his unwavering dedication to leveraging sports as a tool for societal progress and youth empowerment.

“I want this experience to be sweet, I want this experience to be mutually beneficial and fulfilling,” he stated, underscoring the importance of collaboration, teamwork, and unwavering commitment to achieving impactful results.

As a seasoned communication strategist, Fatodu pledged to foster an environment conducive to innovation and creativity, welcoming ideas and initiatives from individuals passionate about contributing to the advancement of sports and the realization of a greater Lagos.
