Nathaniel Idowu-Ajegunle U14 League: Solomon, Yesir Dazzle as Ajegunle United, Pure Talents, Fortune FA Dominate Week 8 

The Nathaniel Idowu-Ajegunle Under-14 Football League delivered another round of exciting grassroots football action in Week 8, as standout performances from James Solomon and Ajaloleru Yesir headlined a weekend of emphatic victories and intense competition.

Ajegunle United Sporting Club returned to winning ways in style, securing a 2-0 victory over Divinely Blessed Football Academy. After a tightly contested first half, James Solomon broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute before doubling the advantage just three minutes later.

His clinical brace ensured all three points for Ajegunle United, with the forward deservedly named Man of the Match.

Strong Dove Football Academy maintained their impressive form with a hard-fought 2-1 win against Moree Wins Foundation Football Academy.

Ayinla Samod gave Strong Dove an early lead in the 6th minute, while Ajadi Ibrahim extended it in the 15th minute.

Moree Wins responded through Lawal Jamiu in the 36th minute, but Strong Dove held firm to see out the victory.

Midfield maestro Ayinde Taiye was ainstrumental throughout and earned the Man of the Match accolade.

Pure Talents Football Academy produced one of the most dominant displays of the round, thrashing Michael May FA 6-0.

Chukwu Gozie opened the scoring early before Ajaloleru Yesir stole the spotlight with a superb hat-trick, finding the net in the 11th, 17th, and 36th minutes.

Igbowu Adeleke added a brace to complete the rout. Yesir’s dazzling performance saw him walk away with the Man of the Match award.

Fortune Football Academy continued their charge at the top of the table with a commanding 7-1 victory over Young 11 Football Academy.

Lateef Wasiu set the tone with an early goal and added another, while Alao Quadri and Odeshola Odunayo both grabbed braces.

Akinola Olajide also got on the scoresheet in a one-sided encounter. Adetunji Darasimi scored a consolation for Young 11, but it was Odunayo’s outstanding display that earned him Man of the Match honours.

In the final fixture of the week, Bright Future Football Academy and Coal City Football Academy shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Anine Emmanuel gave Coal City an early lead in the 4th minute, but Ezike Favour equalised from the penalty spot in the 30th minute.

Emmanuel’s all-round performance stood out, earning him the Man of the Match award despite the draw.

Following Week 8 results, Fortune Football Academy strengthened their grip at the top of the standings, while other teams continue to jostle for position as the competition intensifies.

Attention now turns to Week 9, where teams will aim to build momentum in the race for league glory.
