Nasarawa United FC have officially unveiled a host of new signings ahead of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, with the club declaring its ambition to secure a continental ticket.
The unveiling ceremony took place on Thursday at the Lafia City Stadium in the presence of enthusiastic fans and media representatives. Club Chairman, Solomon Babanjah, and Team Manager, Adamu Musa Galle, introduced the players, highlighting their expected impact on the Solid Miners’ campaign in the NPFL and FA Cup.

Ikemdinachi Imo Prince (Left Back) – from Enyimba FC
Lawal Akanni (Winger) – from Kwara United FC
Gozie Umeh (Defensive Midfielder) – from Enyimba FC
Olughu Onu Chinemerem (Goalkeeper) – from Ikorodu City FC
Moses Botia Tsetuan (Central Defender) – from Lobi Stars FC
Ovunda Darlintin (Goalkeeper) – from Akwa United FC
Olawale Olajide (Central Midfielder) – from Dragons FC, Benin Republic
Vincent Akpikpi (Attacking Midfielder) – from Bendel Insurance
Victor Ekioke (Centre Back) – from Lobi Stars FC
Paul Itim (Centre Forward) – from Lobi Stars FC
Jofrank Instifanus (Winger) – from Camp Pro FC
Oladeji Joshua (Goalkeeper) – from Crown FC
Sunusi Alhaji Audu (Centre Forward) – from Mighty Jets FC
Ojo Johnson (Centre Back) – from City FC of Abuja
Eshimutu Gomina (Winger) – from Kano Pillars
Nnoli Samuel (Centre Back) – from Global Peace Academy
Ogodo Samuel (Winger) – from Adamawa United FC
Some of the new recruits expressed their delight at joining the Solid Miners.
Goalkeeper Darlintin Ovunda said: “This is a new stage of my professional career. I look forward to a better outing with Nasarawa United compared to the previous one.”
Midfielder Vincent Akpikpi noted:
“I have heard so much about Nasarawa United from my professional colleagues. I am glad I am here to contribute my best to the success of the team.”
Returning defender Moses Tsetuan described his signing as a homecoming:
“It feels so good to be back to where I once played and contributed largely to the team’s success. I promise to continue from where I last stopped, but this time I will redouble my efforts.”
Striker Paul Itim pledged goals for the fans:
“My task here is to help the team win the NPFL, FA Cup, and secure a continental slot, all things being equal.”
Chairman Solomon Babanjah assured fans that the club is building a competitive squad:
“Part of our goals is a continental spot, and with the arrival of our new Technical Adviser, Mangut Mbwas, coupled with the quality of players, and support of the Nasarawa State Government and other stakeholders, we believe we can achieve our target.”
He expressed appreciation to Governor Abdullahi Sule, Deputy Governor Dr. Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe, Commissioner for Youth and Sports Hon. Kwanta Yakubu, and other supporters for their continuous encouragement.
Nasarawa United will kick off their 2025/26 NPFL campaign against Niger Tornadoes on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at the Kontagora Memorial Stadium, Minna, by 4:00 pm.
The Solid Miners finished 12th on the log last season with 52 points, one point ahead of Tornadoes who ended in 13th position.
