Nasarawa United Star Nwankwo Rues Loss To MFM …Tips His Team For League Title

Nasarawa United forward, Silas Nwankwo feels his team was the better side despite losing 1-0 away to MFM FC on Monday in the match week 13 of the 2020-21 NPFL season.

Elijah Akanni’s 52-minute strike was enough for MFM to secure all three points, moving up to 9th position in the NPFL table with 17 points after 13 games.

Silas who was in action for the visiting side said a goalkeeping error decided the outcome of the game.

He told Sports247: “It was a fantastic game. We played better, we were unlucky. Just one mistake from our goalkeeper. It happens in football. Next time we will do better.”

Nasarawa United are 6th in the log with 20 points, 5 points adrift of Kwara United in 1st position.

Silas believes his side are still in contention for the league title and insists the title race is still wide open.

“Yeah, we are still in contention. The league is still very open. We are very much in contention.”
