Nasarawa State Tennis Tournament Concludes Successfully, Receives Praise From Perm. Sec. Danladi

The Annual Nasarawa State Tennis Tournament, sponsored by Musa Ogah, concluded successfully with commendations from Chief Barr. Isaac Danladi, the Permanent Secretary of the Nasarawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.

The closing ceremony took place at the Project Quarters’ Tennis Court in Lafia on Sunday.

During the ceremony, Perm. Sec. Danladi extended congratulations to the sponsor and organizers of the tournament, including the Management of the Lafia Tennis Club.

He expressed gratitude on behalf of Governor Engr. Abdullahi for the dedication and effort put into organizing the competition.

Danladi acknowledged the importance of sports as a unifying and enriching activity, citing the Governor’s active participation in the event.

He commended Musa Ogah for generously supporting the tournament, emphasizing the significance of giving back to the community and contributing to the physical and mental development of individuals.

The Permanent Secretary recognized the role of sports in fostering peace and unity in Nasarawa State.

He reiterated the commitment of the Ministry to uphold the Governor’s mantra of “EXCEEDING ALL EXPECTATIONS” and continue advancing youth and sports in the state.

The closing moments of the tournament witnessed an intense final, with Team MAYA Tennis Academy emerging victorious by defeating Team Dukakis and Sani with a scoreline of 6-3; 4-6; 7-5.

A total of sixteen teams participated in the annual competition, and deserving teams and players received cash prizes.

In a generous gesture, Governor Abdullahi Sule donated Two Million Naira (N2,000,000.00) to the Lafia Tennis Club, demonstrating his commitment to supporting sports development in the state.
