Naija 5 Fest Winners To Receive N5m In Male, Female Categories – Osek

Winning teams in male and female categories of the forthcoming Naija 5 Fest Tournament will smile home with the star prize of N5m each at the end of the competition in May.

This was revealed by the competition’s project director, Mr Patrick Osek, who told Sports247 in an exclusive interview that a lot of effort has already been put in place to make it a huge success.

Osek disclosed further that the competition, which is officially tagged 1st National 5-A-Side Football Tournament, will start with teams from all across the country playing on a zonal basis.

He added, “Involving all the 36 states in a tournament simultaneously, with many games to play before the grand finale, takes a lot of effort.

“That’s why we’ve been working hard to ensure the success of this initiative, and we are doing everything to let people know we are genuine.

“It takes a lot, and we thank God that we are making progress, irrespective of the challenges and the stress. We believe we have what it takes to overcome and be successful in what we are doing.”

The project director, who thanked the National Sports Commission (NSC), Federal Ministry of Youth Development and President Bola Tinubu’s senior special assistant on grassroots sports development, Prince Adeyinka Anthony Adeboye for their support, projected an exciting contest all the way to the national finals in Abuja.

“The tournament is expected to start in April for the state qualifiers, and the grande finale will be in May. All the zonal winners will be in Abuja for both male and female finals.

“N5m each will go to the winners of both male and female categories, respectively. This is due to our passion to see our young talents grow and for us to appreciate the value of sports among our youths.

“We hope to see this competition end with success and excitement at the end of the day,” enthused Osek, who also disclosed that more areas of partnership are still open for willing supporters of the initiative.
