The General Manager of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), Rasheed Balogun, has revealed that the unity existing within the Oluyole Warriors,, was one of the reason that has kept the club going.
He therefore, described as untrue, rumours in some quarters that all was not well between him and the Team Manager of the club, Dimeji Lawal (MON).
Featuring on a Fresh FM 105.9 programme, Lori Papa, on Thursday, the 3SC boss said those peddling the rumours were just out to cause distractions to the Ibadan soccer lords, who are preparing for the 2021 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
“Whatever you hear from my mouth regarding Shooting Stars, I challenge you to put a call through to Dimeji Lawal, you will hear exactly the same thing.
“That is to tell you how cordial my relationship with him as well as every member of staff and even the players of the team is”, stated Balogun, who added that the same relationship exists among the technical crew.
“Dimeji and myself relate like brothers, you can make further investigations about that and for the coaches, I have worked with many clubs, I have not seen coaches who work together a like family the way Edith Agoye and his assistants do”.
The former Julius Berger Team Manager also denied insinuations that he was behind the sack of the late Ajibade Babalade as the Team Manager of the club, even as he revealed that the club did not owe the former Super Eagles defender any money before his demise.
“There is no iota of truth in the claims that I sacked Ajibade, those who did that knew themselves and as far as settling him financially was concerned, I can tell you that we had settled him before he died, we were not owing him a dime before he passed on”, he added.
Speaking further, the ex Sunshine Stars TM explained that neither him nor Shooting Stars had any issue with the late 3SC player, stressing that former Super Eagles’ goalkeeper Ike Shorunmu, the late Babalde’s wife and his first son, Segun are all living witnesses to this fact.
“Few days ago, Ike Shorunmu, Ajibade’s wife and his son, Segun, were at our Jericho office to express appreciation to 3SC for the role the club played during his burial ceremony, if there was any problem between us, I don’t think this would have been possible”, explained Balogun.
On the postponed NNL 2021 season which was initially slated to commence this weekend bud had been shifted to Wednesday, the 3SC GM apologise to the teeming fans of the club, stessing that the decision was taken by the organisers of the second tier league.
He reiterated the readiness of the team for the season when it eventually begins, assuring that the Oluyole Warriors were fully ready for the task, with an assurance that the team will not let its followers down.
