MOTM Jamiu Sa’ad Strike Sinks Lobi Stars in Ilorin as ABS FC Return to Winning Ways

Red-hot Jamiu Sa’ad delivered yet again for Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC, scoring the decisive goal in their hard-fought 1–0 victory over Lobi Stars in the Nigeria National League (NNL) Matchday 4 clash on Saturday in Ilorin.

The in-form striker continued his remarkable scoring streak, netting his fourth goal of the season and scoring in each of the four matches played so far by the Saraki Boys.

After a tightly contested first half that produced no goals, ABS FC finally broke the deadlock in the 64th minute.

Lobi Stars goalkeeper George Michael failed to deal with a long-range effort from David Shedrack, parrying the ball into the path of the ever-alert Jamiu Sa’ad, who made no mistake smashing home the rebound to send the home crowd into wild celebration.

Lobi Stars pushed forward in search of an equaliser, but the ABS defence, marshalled by captain Timothy Boniface, held firm.

Goalkeeper Shakiru Lawal, who has now kept three clean sheets this season, showed great composure as Coach Yusuf Salihu’s men protected their slim advantage until the final whistle.

The victory keeps ABS FC firmly in second place on the NNL Northern Conference C standings with 9 points, just one point behind leaders Doma United, who were held to a 2–2 draw by FC Basira in Lafia.

Following his match-winning performance, Jamiu Sa’ad was deservedly named the ABS/Jenik Logistics Player of the Match.

The prolific forward also recently clinched the ABS/Jenik Player of the Month (November) award, edging out teammates David Shedrack and goalkeeper Shakiru Lawal.
