Moses Itauma’s Next Opponent Raises Concern About Possibility Of Facing Biased Judges

Nigerian-born British boxing prodigy, Mosses Itauma’s next opponent, Jermaine Franklin has expressed concern over the possibility of the judges being biased against him, due to his opponent’s highly-celebrated potentials.

Sports247 reports that Itauma will enter the ring in Manchester against Franklin as reigning winner of British Young Boxer of The Year award, and the American fighter believes that would play a sentimental impact on the judges.

Although Franklin previously had gallant outings against Dillian Whyte and Anthony Joshua, as he went the distance with both British stars at various venues in the UK, he is still apprehensive of discrimination during his next date on March 28th.

Itauma versus Franklin will headline Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions’ Magnificent 7 card in Manchester, but it comes amidst recent concern about the antics of judges, as was seen last Saturday in Dublin.

It was a world championship fight between Belfast home boy, Anthony Cacace and Jazza Dickens, with the former becoming the WBA super-featherweight champion with a unanimous decision that was marred by a blunder on the official scorecards.

While making an inference to the development, Franklin told UK’s SunSport: “I feel like that’s always a problem. I’m not from the UK. I don’t want to say it’s a favoritism thing, but we all kind of know how it goes.

“I have to do a lot if he only has to do a little. I just have to make it work in my favour. The ref’s not going to be on my side, the judges are not going to be on my side, so I have to make them respect me.”
