The final list of the 25-women squad for the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations has finally been released by Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum on Friday evening, Sports247 can report.

33 players were initially invited to the team’s camp that was declared open in Abuja weeks ago in preparation for the tournament but 8 players have now been dropped to make way for the 25 players that are allowed to be registered by each nation for the tournament.

Among the big names in the list which was published on the Super Falcon’s office Facebook page, includes Asisat Oshoala, Onome Ebi, Ashleigh Plumptre, Francisca Ordega, Rasheedat Ajibade and Chiamaka Nnadozie and Osinachi Ohale.

Also in the squad is late invitee Gift Monday who was initially missing in the preliminary list but was later included in the lift after an impressive performance at the 2021/2021 NWFL Super 6 in Edo, where she emerged as the Top Scorer and the Player Of The Tournament also made the final list.

Nigeria’s Super Falcons will begin their title defense campaign in the biennial tournament against continental arch rival, Banyana Banyana on Monday, July 4th, 2022.
