Mobi Oparaku Fires Up Super Eagles With Motivation For AFCON Success

Former Super Eagles right-full-back, Mobi Oparaku has fired up players in the current Nigerian squad to motivate themselves into winning the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025).

Sports247 reports that Oparaku is of a view that the team’s inability to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup should now propel the players to be determined towards winning the upcoming AFCON in Morocco.

Oparaku, who was part of Nigeria’s winning squad at Atlanta ’96 Olympic Games, declared: “They already have the motivation in them. They should now be at that level where they know that they don’t need anybody to motivate them.

“The motivation is there already, because you need to make your fans happy all the time. The thought of making up for not going to the World Cup should now be their biggest motivation.”

The gold medalist at Japan ’93 FIFA U17 World Cup concluded with a strong charge for all players in the squad to put in the best of their efforts in order to return from Morocco with the AFCON trophy in January.

“They have to put everything they have into it. Now that we are not going to the World Cup, they have to put all their feet into it. They must unleash it all on the AFCON so that they can win it,” Oparaku stressed.
