Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade is spearheading Nigeria’s preparations for the upcoming friendly matches against Cameroon, dubbed “Mission X.” The fixtures serve as crucial warm-ups ahead of the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Ajibade, who recently departed from Atlético Madrid after four and a half seasons, brings her wealth of experience and leadership to the national team. She was among the first players to arrive at the Super Falcons’ camp in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, ahead of the doubleheader against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon.

Reflecting on the team’s objectives, Ajibade stated, “It’s good to have the players back, and we start to prepare. Right now, it’s a training camp. It’s just a friendly game, so it’s all basically for us to build a team and just to know what we have as a squad. The most important thing is we want to build a team; we want to make sure that we’re preparing ahead of a tournament.”
What do I say to Nigeria about Mission X? Well, every tournament that we go to represent the nation, it’s a privilege, it’s an honour, and the aim is always to give it our best. The aim is always to aim for the trophy.”
The Super Falcons are set to face Cameroon in two friendly matches: the first on Saturday, May 31, at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo, and the second on Tuesday, June 3, at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta.
These matches are pivotal as Nigeria aims to fine-tune tactics and build cohesion ahead of their bid for a record-extending 10th continental crown at WAFCON 2025.
As the Super Falcons embark on Mission X, Ajibade’s leadership and the team’s collective focus underscore their commitment to excellence on the continental stage.
