Mission X Launched: Madugu Appeals For Prayers, Vocal Support

Ahead of the WAFCON opener on July 5, 2025, Super Falcons coach Justin Madugu has called on Nigerians everywhere to support “Mission X” through prayers and vocal encouragement. With warm-up wins—2–0 over Cameroon and 3–1 against Ghana—the coach emphasized the need for collective backing.

“In Nigeria, support is more than noise—it’s motivation,” Madugu stressed in a press briefing. He said the team remains calm and focused despite external distractions, and that every member is committed to #MissionX: clinching the 10th WAFCON title and confirming Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s football .

Madugu noted that the team arrived in Casablanca on June 25 for a final camp and wrapped up fitness and tactics training in preparation for their opening match against Tunisia on July 6. He downplayed any pressure, saying, “I am not under pressure… It is Mission ‘X’ for every one of us” .

With belief grounded in recent victories against Portugal (0–0 draw), Cameroon, and Ghana, Madugu affirmed that the Falcons are improving steadily. “It will always be a work in progress… but we are very focused on our realisable and achievable target of Mission X,” he added .

He encouraged Nigerians—at home and in the diaspora—to follow the journey, praying and cheering as the Falcons chase the historic 10th title and qualification to the Women’s World Cup
