Miracle Ezechukwu Targets Double Gold at First African Senior Championships

Competing at her first African Senior Championships has become a dream fulfilled for Nigerian sprinter Miracle Ezechukwu, who has now set her sights on winning gold medals in both the women’s 100m and the 4x100m relay for Team Nigeria.

Speaking during the championship, the young athlete expressed excitement and determination as she continues to make her mark on the continental stage.

“Yes, I really want to win the championship, and I tried my best to be in the final,” she said confidently after securing qualification.

Ezechukwu described her participation at the championships as a major milestone in her athletics journey, revealing that competing at the senior continental event had always been one of her biggest ambitions.

“Yes, it was a dream come true. That has been my target and here I am,” she added.

The Nigerian sprinter also disclosed that she has her eyes set on future international competitions, including the Commonwealth Games and junior championships, as she aims to continue her rapid development in athletics.
“Commonwealth and Junior Championship is my target soon,” she stated.

Despite facing several challenges on her journey to the championships, Ezechukwu expressed gratitude for successfully progressing in the competition and maintaining her focus.

“I am really happy to qualify despite several hurdles,” she said.

The athlete further expressed strong confidence in Nigeria’s chances in the women’s 4x100m relay event, stating clearly that her expectation is nothing short of gold for the country.

“I expect gold for Nigeria in the 4×1,” she concluded.

Ezechukwu’s performances have continued to attract attention at the championships, with many describing her as one of the exciting young talents emerging from Nigeria’s athletics scene.
