N-Youth athlete Miracle Ezechukwu delivered an outstanding performance at the MTN CHAMPS meet in Calabar, qualifying for the World U20 Championships in her first outing of the season while also securing double gold in the Junior Women’s 100m and 200m events.
The young sprinter showcased impressive speed and composure throughout the competition, dominating both sprint races to underline her growing reputation as one of Nigeria’s promising junior athletes.
Speaking after her successful outing, Ezechukwu credited her achievement to the intense training and motivation provided by her coaching team.
“We have been training hard with encouragement from our coach with the slogan ‘no pain, no gain,’” she said.
Her performances in Calabar not only earned her two gold medals but also secured qualification for the World Athletics U20 Championships, marking a significant milestone in her developing career.
Despite the success, the young sprinter remains focused on improvement as she prepares for the challenges ahead on the international stage.
“I am glad and excited, but I still need to work harder to get my times lower in the 100m and 200m so I can remain consistent during the selection process for the World U20 Championships,” she explained.
Ezechukwu’s determination reflects the mindset of an athlete eager to continue progressing while representing Nigeria at the highest junior level.
