Michelle Alozie Receives Touching Good Luck Gift From 9-Year-Old Fan Dẹ́síre Ahead of Super Falcons’ Benin Republic Clash

Super Falcons defender Michelle Alozie had an emotional encounter on the eve of Nigeria’s WAFCON qualifier against Benin Republic in Abeokuta, after a young fan, Dẹ́síre, surprised her with a heartfelt gift and words of encouragement.

Just hours after Alozie gave the 9-year-old one of her football boots during a team event, the young admirer showed up again — this time with a small wrapped package and a handwritten note that read, “Good luck, my hero.”

The touching gesture left Alozie visibly moved.

“It was really special,” she said. “Moments like that remind me why we play — not just for ourselves, but for every young girl watching and dreaming.”

Alozie, who plays her club football for Houston Dash in the United States, said the team is fully focused on securing qualification after their 2–0 first-leg win in Togo.

“We know what’s at stake,” she added. “We’ve worked hard and we’re ready to finish strong at home. The fans have been incredible, and we want to give them something to celebrate.”

The defender also thanked supporters for their constant encouragement, saying that interactions like Dẹ́síre’s show how much the team means to Nigerians everywhere
