Michael Olise Ruled Out Of January Transfer To Liverpool

Bayern Munich of Germany’s Nigerian-born French international, Michael Olise has been ruled out of a move to Liverpool and is not in line for a return to England in January, Sports247 gathered.

Despite recent focus on the former Crystal Palace ace, information has emerged that Liverpool will not make a move for Olise at the start of 2026, as they aim for in-form Ghanaian, Antoine Semenyo of Bournemouth instead.

Liverpool fell 3-0 at home versus Nottingham Forest on Saturday, marking a sixth loss in seven EPL games for Arne Slot, who is now desperate to beef up his side in the winter window come January, after they also slumped in the UEFA Champions League.

However, respected transfers analyst, Florian Plettenburg insists Liverpool are not looking at Olise, though the French dazzler has already scored nine goals and set up 10 in 18 games for Bayern this season.

Plettenburg pointed out: “Liverpool are fond of Michael Olise and view him as a future dream target. However, despite other reports, they are not planning an offer at this stage. He is currently not a concrete transfer target for Liverpool.

“Main reasons: he does not have a release clause in his contract, FC Bayern are not open to talks, and Olise himself is not inclined to leave. (So,) Liverpool are currently focused on Antoine Semenyo.”
