Sports247 reports that, though the deal that takes him to Bright Osayi-Samuel’s former club is a loan arrangement from Burnley, Obafemi wants to make the best of it.

The youngster, who arrives from a similar deal Burnley had with German lower division side, Vfl Bochum, added that he feels great being back in Queensland and is yearning to start hitting target.

The 25-year-old was recalled from loan at Bochum, where he made just three appearances, totalling just 30 minutes of action, and the Republic of Ireland international wants a resurgence at Bloomfield Road.

Obafemi declared that he is very happy to join Blackpool and enthused that he cannot wait to get started at the former EPL campaigners, who he has to help avoid relegation from League One.

“It feels great, and I’m thankful for this opportunity to play here. I’ve learned a lot about myself recently, and it’s a great time for me to come back to the UK.

“I’m here to score goals and try and help the side climb up the table and get to where it needs to be,” said Obafemi, who was also hailed by the club’s coach, Ian Evatt, with high expectations following him.

“Michael is very talented and for us to be able to bring in a player of his quality is really exciting. He has a history of scoring goals in the Championship and has Premier League experience too,” Evatt noted.
