She singled out senior players in the team for encouraging her and further pointed out that the ability of everyone in the squad to bond as one and share the same focus were factors that helped them regain the title they lost last year to Dolphins.

This time out, much to the delight of Sewuese, MFM defeated another Lagos-based side, First Bank Elephant Girls 66-64 overtime in Saturday’s final, and the rookie from Benue State, with only one year’s epxrience as a breakthrough player, is thinking of bigger things to come.

Sewuese, who shot into national limelight in 2025, when she emerged as most valuable player at the Zone 3 FIBA Academies Tournament, added that she sees everyone in the team as a family and is happy with how they continue shaping her development.

The enterprising youngster added: “The strong bond within the team is impeccable. The love – this is a family – it’s everything for me. I want to make them proud every day of my life, on and off the court.

“What has been keeping me going is my teammates and encouragement from my seniors. They don’t give up at all. Coupled with the zeal that I have deep within me to keep on going, I want to play and play at my very best.”
